This time of year I always go back in my mind to that beautiful blue sky day of September 11, 2001. I read the books, watch the films and remember. It was such a beautiful morning. Suddenly, horribly, shattered by the terrible images of planes flying into buildings and the certain knowledge of innocent people dying.
In our country there is a "disconnect" between the people of New York City and the people who live elsewhere and have no direct link to the City. But on that day, we were all one with the people in the City. We all felt the horror. We all felt the loss. We all felt the fear.
Remember with me. Honor the people who were so brave that day and in the following months. Don't ever forget the tragedy.
